Presented in Xie Fan’s solo exhibition at Bangkok Kunsthalle this April, this rose pink cup extends the artist’s ongoing exploration of color, materiality, and sculptural ceramic form. Entirely handcrafted in Xie Fan Studio, each vessel reflects the subtle nuances of its making—variations in shape, glaze density, and tonal depth that render every piece singular.
Natural mineral pigments are blended into the clay and fired at 1280°C, giving the cup its soft pink base. A layer of translucent matte glaze is then applied, creating an understated grey veil that shifts gently with the light. Delicate yet grounded, the cup carries the tenderness and atmospheric sensibility that run through the artist’s broader practice.
As a functional object or a quiet display piece, it brings a moment of intimacy and calm into daily rituals.
