Iceland Monitor | Steingrímur Gauti opens at Gallerí Tveir Hrafnar on Friday

Iceland Monitor, 2018年11月1日

"Icelandic artist Steingrímur Gauti Ingólfsson will be opening his sixth solo exhibition of paintings in Gallerí Tveir Hrafnar in Reykjavik on Friday.

The exhibition is titled, "Ekki gera neitt," which translates to "Don't do anything." Ingólfsson, who graduated from the fine arts department at the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2015 paints large, sparse, abstract expanses on canvas.

Ingólfsson also studied at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. His latest works are described as being in an inner conflict, battling over what they want to convey, and what they don't wish to convey. Are they something that we see or something that is hidden, what is surface and what is beneath."
