A meditation on the passage of time that comes with prolonged isolation. Yang paints a self-portrait as a soldier — a warrior invented in a Dungeons & Dragons game — lying quietly in the snow, waiting, surrounded by the black hens that once lived in his house. They have all since died; the only thing still alive in this ghostly place is his hope of returning to a life with those he loves.
