ELLE: LOUIS VUITTON LAUNCHES THE 2023 ARTYCAPUCINES COLLECTION WITH FIVE NEW ARTISTS

Jamie Lee, ELLE, 12 Oct 2023

At the heart of Louis Vuitton’s 169-year legacy, is the essence of always returning to one’s roots. The eponymous founder opened his first-ever boutique in 1854 on Rue Neuve-des-Capucines in Paris, France — a key detail to Louis Vuitton’s heritage that eventually inspired creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s Capucines bag.

Launched in 2019, the Capucines has since evolved to become a testament of the maison’s enduring relationship with art, having worked with 29 contemporary artists to craft the limited-edition Artycapucines such as Alex Israel, Park Seo-Bo, Zhao Zhao, Paola Pivi, Henry Taylor and more. Each Artycapucines not only emphasises the individual artist’s medium and style, but also the maison’s spirit of reinvention and craftsmanship.

This time, the maison is working with five new artists namely Billie Zangewa, Ew Juszkiewicz, Liza Lou, Tursic & Mille and Wang Ziping for the 2023 Artycapucines collection, with only 200 pieces per design available globally. Take a closer look here.
